MANCHESTER Waconians Lacrosse Club have appointed Tom Wenham has their new head coach ahead of the start of the new season, which starts on Saturday (2pm).
The Wilmslow Road outfit are looking for a successful run in the Premier Division of the Men's North of England League this term - and they believe former England international Wenham is the right man for the job!
And despite having helped guide Wacs to the Lancashire Cup crown last term, it is former head coach Phil Greenwood who steps down following the birth of his first child.
"I've stood down, but I'll still be playing an active part in the club's development," said Greenwood.
"I wish Tom and all of our teams the very best of luck this season."
Wenham takes immediate charge of the first team, although they have no domestic fixture this weekend because they will be on tour in Germany.
The club are set to play the Hamburg Braves and a Swedish and Czech team on this weekend's tour, before returning to play their first league game next weekend (Sat 30th Sept) at home to Cheadle.
Wacs have also recruited two American players, both from New York, as they look to challenge for honours.
Ryan Lewis (Le Moyne) and Pat Meade (Hobart) have both joined the club as local development officers, mixing their coaching responsibilities with playing for the first team.
